Raised in Duncan, Dr. Sudduth first met dentistry as a Rebel football player, when he was fitted for his team issued custom mouthguard. That visit turned into shadowing his hometown dentist, and into a career.
He studied at Clemson University, earned his dental degree at the Medical University of South Carolina, and completed the Prisma Health General Practice Residency in Columbia, with advanced training in IV sedation, wisdom tooth removal and caring for medically complex patients.
Yes, Pioneer is currently accepting new patients!
New patient visits typically include dental X-rays, a thorough dental exam, and a teeth cleaning. If the exam reveals any needed procedures (like a filling), we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment.
Yes, we accept many forms of dental insurance, as well as HSA/FSA and cash/self-pay. Find a current list of accepted insurers on our For Patients page.
It’s OK, most people are! We know visiting the dentist can be a source of anxiety and stress for many people, so we do everything we can to make your experience a comfortable, stress-free time. We also offer a range of anxiety relief options, including ceiling mounted televisions/streaming services, weighted blankets, and noise-canceling headphones. For patients needing dental procedures, we offer IV, oral, and nitrous oxide sedation methods. If you’re not sure which option is right for you, we’ll discuss them at your evaluation/cleaning visit.
Dental emergencies rarely resolve on their own, and waiting can lead to additional damage. Give us a call immediately: We help patients with dental emergencies regularly.
